Mike Podrebarac: SCYPA Young Professional of the Year!

We're so proud, right here in Stroud! And you can bet, we're singing it out loud! On November 17, 2011 Mike Podrebarac, our very engaging real estate associate, was named Young Professional of the Year by SCYPA, the Simcoe County Young Professionals Association.

Mike Podrebarac has a big personality. He likes people and he's not afraid of hard work. From the moment that he joined Anderson Adams, there is no question Mike has made his presence felt in the Innisfil and Simcoe County communities.

Mike is a founding member of Innisfil Rotary. And of course he’s been a real force within that highly discerning group known as SCYPA, who have just honoured him for his contributions. No matter what needs to be done, Mike P (who also answers to "Pod") is right there, sleeves rolled up, doing it. With that huge smile on his face. Making the job a lot of fun for everyone. So it’s not surprising he’s made a lot of friends.

At the same time, he’s been honing his skills as an up-and-coming young lawyer, working diligently to learn all that George Gibson could teach him. Pod joined our firm with a solid honours degree in business administration from Wilfrid Laurier University and an excellent legal education from University of Western Ontario. George, who established the firm in 1974, has closely mentored Pod to ensure that his skills and experience in real estate are passed down to the next generation. And now that George has announced his retirement from the practice of law effective December 31, 2011, Mike P will be continuing to provide real estate, wills and estates and corporate legal service at the law firm of Anderson Adams.

Many of you will have already met Mike, either out there in the community or at our law firm. With George stepping back from active practice in preparation for his retirement, Mike has stepped right up to the plate. He’s acted on more and more files, including matters for our long-standing clients and matters for our many new clients who are also recent additions to our community. Clients who have experienced Pod’s customer service-oriented, friendly and approachable attitude have let us know how much they enjoy him. Ellen Anderson and Mike Adams will be continuing our practices in civil litigation and family law with Pod under the new firm name of Anderson Adams. But the more things change, the more they stay the same. Anderson Adams will be located at the same familiar Innisfil address in the same building and with the same phone and fax numbers:

Are we surprised that Pod has been honoured as Young Professional of the Year by SCYPA? Delighted, yes. Pleased. And very very proud. But Pod is unmistakably just one of those people who stand out, who do more than their jobs require, and who really want to make a difference. Pod’s continuing that great and important tradition of community service which has always driven our firm.

Community service. And legal service. Ellen, Mike and Pod are committed to providing legal advice and help to you. The firm name is changing, but not our approach. As always, Anderson Adams will be "right beside you" every step of the way.
