Ellen can help you with your family law problems, whether you require a cohabitation, marriage or separation agreement. She deals with child support, spousal support, divorce, custody and access issues. Ellen is a fully qualified Collaborative Family Law Lawyer. She will work hard to settle your case in a non-adversarial manner through negotiation, but has no hesitation in taking high-conflict matters to court when it is necessary to do so.

In the civil litigation area, Ellen handles employment law, wrongful dismissal and constructive dismissal claims, long term disability insurance claims and human rights complaints. Ellen also deals with many other civil law issues including personal injuries, property law disputes and estate litigation.

In 2000, Ellen published the authorized biography of Bertha Wilson, who was the first woman judge to be appointed to the Supreme Court of Canada; the biography is an edited version of Ellen's thesis for her doctorate in law. In her previous careers, Ellen taught art history, literature and international tourism at Georgian College for some 12 years and then spent many years at home raising two children before graduating from UofT law school. Ellen, a partner with Anderson Adams, articled with the firm and returned as an associate after she was called to the bar in 1998.
